Sew, What's the Point?

This year we're having more of a homespun Christmas. I'm excited about it. It's challenging me to develop skills that have laid dormant for some time now. My friend and I decided it would be more fun to sew together; good company and she could still get something done while I sup from her oceanic knowledge of sewing..and the kids could keep each other entertained. It was fun! I made 2 kiddie aprons that turned out really well and some throw pillows to go with the DV cover I'm making Jess. I'm getting the hang of the sewing thing, which is very exciting to me. I do need to find the instruction book. After a prayer and some pondering I figured out how to properly thread my machine. Can I tell you how much better it worked?!
While we were busy sewing, Jess turned into a rascal. She wasn't kind to her little friend Corrine, so I made her apologize. Corrine kindly said "It's okay." " No it's not! If you say "OK", that means I can do it again. That's NOT the point. You need to say ' I forgive you, but don't do it again' that's my point." ...they are still friends. Bless Corrine's heart!

Happy Birthday from Pollyanna

Happy Schmappy Birthday to me!

So, I know this is late, not that anyone is surprised...but I wanted to say thanks to the girls for the fun birthday lunch. ( I wrote proper Thank You notes and delivered about half of them so far..duh.) And then to make it even sweeter, Pollyanna (who has entirely admirable talents) made me a fantastic fondant mad hatter birthday cake! She made the fondant out of marshmallow so it tasted as wonderful as it looked! I took pictures of the art.

Jess and Wes on the first day of Kindergarten

Jess and Wes on the first day of Kindergarten
Jess woke up on this particular morning in rare form. She usually doesn't care what she's wearing; her birthday suit is just as good as anything else. On this day inparticular, she informed me that she didn't want any bows or bands and that she had her clothes picked out. Was that Kindergarten or 8th grade?
